Programs
Through our programs, we are working to beautify our city, plant trees, prevent and abate litter, educate youth about environmental stewardship, and more!
Adopt-A-Park
This program empowers volunteer groups to adopt a park, median or greenbelt to maintain. Volunteers can choose to pick up litter, mow, or make city-approved landscape improvements on a year-round basis. Each group is recognized with a sign acknowledging their efforts in its park or median.
Mother Earth
Mother Earth teaches students an appreciation of the environment at an early age! We reach 20,000 elementary students each year. The program begins with an interactive play with professional actors that lead the students through lessons on litter abatement, recycling, water conservation and more.
Cigarette Litter Prevention
Cigarettes are the most littered item. We are working to prevent that in Oklahoma City. We provide free receptacles to commercial districts and organizations. Cigarette waste is collected and sent to Terracycle to be repurposed. This program includes outreach and education about the harms of cigarette litter.
Earth Academy
The OKC Beautiful Earth Academy is a unique opportunity for high school students to connect with the environment. Each class delves into a different topic, such as conservation, waste reduction, renewable energy, and more. We are working to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards!
Recycle Bin Program
Borrow portable recycle bins and lids for you to check out & use at your next event. Whether for a birthday party, festival, or wedding, we encourage event recycling. They are FREE and available to you or your organization. We have a total of 40 bins available, depending on how many are checked out
