Urban Heat Island Campaign Volunteer Training

Urban Heat Islands are areas with less shade or tree cover and more hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt and glass that concentrate heat and raise air and surface temperatures. With the help of volunteers, the City of Oklahoma City will be mapping these areas. This event is one of three trainings for volunteers. The Urban Heat Island Mapping campaign will take place on August 12, weather permitting.
