OKC Beautiful was instrumental in the construction of Lake Hefner Trails, completed in 1998, which includes 10 miles of bicycle and walking trails surrounding the lake. The Hefner Trails are a very popular attraction for everybody. The Trails Program began with a small group of individuals who initiated the building of the original trails at Stars and Stripes Park, then joined OKC Beautiful to help create other trails that surround the lake.

A Citywide Trails Master Plan has now been created by the City Planning Department, of which OKC Beautiful supports. Please click here to visit the City of Oklahoma City's trails site to get further information on the Master Plan and to see what has been accomplished!  Recently, trails were completed on South Grand Boulevard that include benches provided by OKC Beautiful.  This is an ongoing plan that will take many many years to fully realize, but we are so excited at the beautification possibilities it presents!
